Sophie Russell has over 25 years’ experience working with children, adults, couples and families as a registered psychologist. She is an accredited and registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, a Nationally Accredited Mediator and a Parenting Coordinator.
Sophie brings empathy, compassion, and respect for all clients to her work with separating parents. With a focus on the best interest of the children, managing and minimising conflicts in families, problem-solving, promoting effective communication, and parental education on the impact of conflict on children’s development and well-being are among the goals of Sophie’s approach. She believes that her work with clients makes a positive difference in
families now and for the future, where a peaceful and amicable relationship between parents, that work together ensures children feel loved, heard and safe.
Property settlements do not need to be overly complicated, expensive or time-consuming. Family dispute resolution/mediation helps separated couples go through all the legal steps feeling heard, respected, empowered, and supported, remaining in control of the negotiation and the decisions made. Sophie believes that the best settlements are reached in mediation, where former partners make informed decisions that allow them to move on with their lives and heal the pain of the separation.
